How a garage cleanout works here
Most garage cleanouts on the Treasure Coast run between a half load and a full load, and you'll know your exact price before we start. Anything usable gets donated when possible, metals get recycled, and you get your garage back the same day.

The hazardous shelf, and why the city cap runs out
What has to stay behind
Almost every garage on the Treasure Coast has the same shelf: half a can of oil-based paint, a jug of pool chlorine, a gas can from a mower that is long gone, and something with a skull on the label nobody wants to touch. None of that can go on our truck, and it is not us being fussy. It is household hazardous waste and it has its own disposal chain.
Set it aside and it goes free to the county household hazardous waste drop-off. St. Lucie County takes it at the Glades Cut-Off Road facility in Fort Pierce; Martin County takes it next door to the Busch Street scales in Palm City, and runs a HazMobile that stops at the Stuart fire station on MLK Jr. Boulevard the second Wednesday of the month.
Everything else in the garage is fair game. Latex paint that has been dried out with cat litter or hardener is usually fine as regular waste, and if you are unsure about a container, leave it out and ask us on the day.
Two cubic yards goes faster than you think
Port St. Lucie collects bulk once a month, up to two cubic yards. The city itself measures a cubic yard as roughly one front-load washer, so your entire monthly allowance is about two washers' worth of space.
A garage that has been filling for a decade is not two washers. Our truck holds about fifteen cubic yards, so one full load is roughly seven months of city bulk allowance in a single visit. That is the whole reason this page exists.
If you are close to the cap and not in a hurry, use the free collection - we will say so. Past it, the city charges by the cubic yard through 1PSL at (772) 871-1775, currently $18.50 per cubic yard, and at that point a load price is usually the cheaper way out.

Your price is based on how much space your junk takes up in the truck — measured on site, agreed before we lift a thing. For scale, Wetland Junk Removal counts a cubic yard as about one front-load washer — so a full truck is roughly fifteen of them.

A full load is about 15 cubic yards — roughly six pickup truck loads. Single-item pickups start at $150. Price includes labor, loading, hauling, and disposal fees. Heavy materials (concrete, dirt, roofing) quoted separately — just send photos.

Garage cleanout questions
What happens to the paint, gas cans and chemicals out there?
Those we cannot take. Old gas, pesticides, motor oil, pool chemicals and oil-based paint are household hazardous waste, and a junk truck is the wrong place for them. Set them aside and they go free to the county household hazardous waste drop-off. Everything else in the garage is fair game, and we will point you to the right facility for the rest.
Do I have to sort it all before you come?
No. Sorting is the part people dread and it is the part you can skip. Walk the garage with us, point at what goes, and we load it. If it is easier, mark the keep pile with tape and we will work around it. The only thing worth pulling out ahead of time is the hazardous stuff above.
How much of a garage actually fits in one load?
A typical single-car garage that has been filling up for years usually lands between a half load at $400 and a full load at $650. A two-car garage packed to the door is a full load or more. You will get the number from your photos before we start, and nothing goes on the truck until you have agreed to it.
Do I need to be there the whole time?
Not the whole time. Most people walk the garage with us at the start, point out the keep pile, and then get on with their day. If the garage is open and you have already marked what goes, you do not need to be there at all. You will get an on-my-way text either way.
