How furniture removal works here
The problem is almost never weight. It's geometry. Sectionals that came into a Treasure Coast house through a sliding lanai door before the screen enclosure went up often can't come back out the way they went in, and a queen box spring won't make the turn in a standard hallway.
That's normal and we plan for it. Frames come apart, legs come off, and sofa backs unbolt more often than people expect. We'd rather spend ten minutes with a wrench than gouge your doorframe.

Why one bed eats your whole bulk allowance
Port St. Lucie's curbside bulk pickup takes mattresses, once a month, up to two cubic yards.
A queen mattress on its own is roughly a cubic yard. Add the box spring and you've used the entire month's allowance on one bed — before the frame, the headboard, or anything else in the room.
If you're clearing a guest room or a whole house, that limit is the reason DIY stops making sense somewhere around the second piece of furniture.
Bed bugs — say so up front
If there's any chance of bed bugs, tell us when you book. It changes nothing about whether we'll take it, but it changes how we handle it.
Wrap the mattress in plastic before we arrive if you can. Moving an unwrapped infested mattress through a house is how a bedroom problem becomes a living room problem.

Humidity and the garage
Upholstered furniture stored in a Treasure Coast garage doesn't age well. Between summer humidity and no air conditioning, cushions hold moisture and mildew sets into the frame.
It's the single most common reason a piece someone was saving for a kid or a rental turns out not to be worth saving. Worth checking before you plan around it.
Donation, honestly
Clean, structurally sound furniture is worth rehoming and we'll set it aside when a piece qualifies. Charities have real standards though — most won't accept upholstery with stains, tears, odor, or any water damage.
We won't promise your couch gets donated. What we'll do is not send something usable to the landfill without trying.

Your price is based on how much space your junk takes up in the truck — measured on site, agreed before we lift a thing. For scale, Wetland Junk Removal counts a cubic yard as about one front-load washer — so a full truck is roughly fifteen of them.

A full load is about 15 cubic yards — roughly six pickup truck loads. A single piece falls under our single-item rate, starting at $150. A room's worth of furniture usually lands around a half load. Price includes disassembly, labor, hauling, and disposal fees.

Furniture removal questions
Can you get a sectional out of a condo or down a stairwell?
Usually, yes — that is a large share of what we do on the island and around downtown. Tight stairwells, elevator time limits and narrow doorways are all workable if we know in advance. Send photos of the piece and the route out, and mention the building name and floor so we can book any elevator or loading window the association requires.
Do stairs or a long carry cost extra?
No. The price is by how much room it takes in the truck, full stop. A third-floor walk-up costs the same as a ground-floor garage for the same amount of furniture. We would rather you tell us about the stairs so we bring enough hands than have you leave it out of the description to protect the quote.
Do you take mattresses?
Yes, all sizes, box springs and frames included. Mattresses are bulky rather than heavy, so they take more room in the truck than people expect — two or three of them plus a frame is already a meaningful part of a load. Worth sending a photo so the number is right the first time.
Will a couch that is still good get donated?
Where we can place it, yes. Clean, structurally sound furniture gets sorted for donation rather than dumped. Anything torn, soaked, smoke-damaged or infested will not be accepted by a charity and goes to the county facility instead — we will tell you honestly which category yours is in rather than promising a donation that will not happen.
